BAHRAIN: MAKEUP WORKSHOP
Last week we conducted a 3-day interactive workshop for a small group of 8-10 women per day, in a friendly and relaxed setting at Golden Sands, Hoora and Matrook Plaza, Juffair in Bahrain.
Professional makeup knowledge, tricks and techniques were covered giving the ladies a hands-on experience. It was a fun experience for us and the participants. The ladies found it personalized, they had the opportunity to practice on themselves and use suitable products with a step by step guidance from us.
Some of the ladies had never worn any makeup except for special occasions. On the other hand, some had the products, but were not sure about how to use it to achieve the look they want.
We started by going through the makeup products some of the ladies had carried along and filtered through the items that work for them and what they should toss. We recommended the products/colors they should be looking for.
After that we began the demo: a makeup application on the model, breaking everything down step by step. We made custom suggestions for every lady practicing on herself.
Day 1- BEAUTIFUL BASICS (focus on the eyes)
The theme for the workshop was Beautiful Basics with focus on the eyes. .Each workshop covered the following: Basic skincare, Preparing skin before makeup, Application and blending techniques, Makeup tools, Highlighting and shading, Product Knowledge, Eye shadow application and techniques, Smokey Eyes Face/ eye shapes and Lips.
A simple day look was transformed into an evening/glamorous look in 5-10 minutes. The ladies watched the demo and practiced on themselves step by step. They asked questions to ensure they knew the correct techniques and about the products that suit them individually. Everyone had a complete set of brushes to practice with while they were at the workshop.
Day 2-BEAUTIFUL BASICS -Soft Smokey Eye (wearable for day and evening)
Day 3- BEAUTIFUL BASICS (natural/office going look)
The ladies were amazing, it was such a fun event!
They left the workshop feeling more beautiful, and confident to choose the right products. Some of the participants said they learnt to perfect a smokey eye.
The three tips that were liked most by the women at the workshop were:
Correcting dark zones and dark circles using the MUF orange /peach corrector and the MAC Prep and Prime Primer.
Always have a clean blending brush when doing a dark smokey eye.
A quick day to night eye make-up transformation using a matte dark brown/black eye-shadow in the corner of the eyes and under the eyes.
A simple lucky draw was held at the end of the session and one of the ladies from each group left with a makeup goody bag.
